A new trailer for the Russian Superhero movie “Zaschitniki”, meaning “Guardians” in Russian, directed and produced by Sarik Andreasyan has been released. I cannot judge the content yet but the trailers look promising, especially for a superhero movie coming out of Russia.
The movie is set during the Cold War, a secret organization named “Patriot” gathered a group of Soviet superheroes, altering and augmenting the DNA of four individuals, in order to defend the homeland from supernatural threats.
The group includes representatives of the different nationalities of the Soviet Union. The hero representing Armenia played by Armenian-Russian actor Sebastien Sisak is in particular interesting to me. His name is “Ler” (meaning mountain in Armenian) is a hero with the abilities to manipulate earth. Among many abilities he is able to control stone and soil, collect dust from boulders, stop falling rocks, and move mountains. He can cause rocks of any size and amount to levitate and fly as if weightless, as well as orbit him.
An interesting observation; Ler’s sign which he also wears on his chest is Arevkhach, the Armenian sign of eternity which is also in the logo of this blog. I’ve made a video about this symbol a long time ago (see it HERE), and it’s great to see it being applied in such a manner on the big screen. But enough explanation let’s take a look at the new trailer and 3 older once bellow (arranged by the order of release date from new to older). Enjoy!
