There is a book called Armenian History in Italian art, which is not yet in my possession so I cannot show any pages from it. But I did find a few illustrations from this book of classical Italian pieces depicting scenes from Armenian History.

Yes it is Italian Art, yes it has been authored by Italian Artists, yes in Italy. However, all this did not happen by itself. Italian artists were not suddenly inspired by Armenian history nor the Armenian saints. Mekhitarist Fathers in Venice after the Napoleonic invasion of Italy had a boost by the Emperor and embarked avidly discovering the Armenian History, notably inspired by Fr Michael Tchamtchian’s Armenian History in 3-volumes.
